[ History ] :
Just. Linking.

[ Personality ] :
Lucrecia is a scientist. A very excitable one at times, and once she has a goal, she doesn’t waver, but a scientist nonetheless. She is an extremely skilled biotechnologist, evidenced by how she takes Vincent and not only saves his life, but actually reverses the decay his body had begun to go through while he was still alive. Speaking of? She loves Vincent. It took her awhile to admit, and she pushed him away because she had inadvertently killed his father, but she loves him, and that’s why she works so hard—sometimes even going so far as to rush.

However, Lucrecia isn’t always a happy person. She had become fairly jaded since becoming involved with Hojo. He not only killed the man she loved (even though she was dating Hojo at the time), he took her child and talked down to her, leading her to be depressed. She was so depressed, she attempted suicide. She began to profusely apologize to Vincent, even if he couldn’t hear her. She readily admits she made mistakes—a lot of them—at this point. But she’ll also admit that, while she never meant it to turn out this way, that, “[She’s] happy he survived.”

Lucrecia is normally calm, though she does get worked up at times and end up lashing out—either at the computers, or by yelling. She grew distraught multiple times during the flashbacks of Dirge of Cerberus, and became infuriated with Hojo for not even allowing her to hold her own son—Sephiroth.

Lucrecia is also very big about making her own decisions and living with the consequences. When Vincent asks if she’s sure she wants to go through with the experiments, she insists, “If this only concerns me, then yes, I am sure.” She reacts angrily when her actions are questioned, perhaps because of the years of ridicule she faced for her thesis.

She has many regrets, however, she is definitely satisfied with the outcome now. Vincent is alive, and he is now moving on. Even though she misses her life and wishes she could take some things back, she is happy that Vincent was able to live and didn’t die for her mistakes.

[ Strengths/Weaknesses ] :
Lucrecia is a woman of science. She is highly intelligent, and does well with her degree. She was once very high within the ranks of ShinRa’s science department, and was in fact viewed by Hojo to be the only one “worthy” of bearing his offspring. This, however, didn’t save her from being mocked openly about her thesis about Omega—something that turned out to be rather true.

Lucrecia also reacts badly to her own mistakes. She pushed Vincent away because she felt responsible for his father’s death. Her own attempts to distance herself from Vincent also led her to Hojo’s arms, trying to keep the one she cared about out of harm’s way. This, obviously, didn’t turn out well. She was also fairly naïve, leading to Hojo using her while continuing to belittle her.

Another thing to note: Lucrecia entered her crystal sleep because she happened to have been altered by the Jenova cells introduced to Sephiroth in the womb. An attempted suicide actually failed because her body had become so durable. She, literally, has super self-healing.

[ Other Important Facts ] :
It is implied that the Jenova cells began to erode her mind and body. However, it's also implied that this ended either after her attempted suicide or upon her sealing herself within the crystal. For the purpose of Vat, it will be the latter that caused this--the materia fountain she sealed herself in stopped the Jenova cells from eroding her completely and she managed to restore herself over the years.

[ Sample ] :
I’m so sorry.

How many times had she repeated this phrase over and over for many years now. She had thought herself beyond forgiveness. But after meeting Vincent again… She had been filled with joy. And now, when she had at last thought rest within her grasp… She had woken up, drenched in water. Gone was her white gown, replaced instead by her clothes of old. But it doesn’t matter. What matters is where she is.

“Is this… Is this the Lifestream…?” she wonders aloud, shakily standing and turning in place. She hadn’t seen a place like this. It’s almost wondrous. She has to know where she is.

She has to know if Vincent managed to control Chaos and stop Omega.

[ Questions? Comments? Concerns? ] :
She does not know Sephiroth survived the Nibelheim incident.
